|
Marc ZagaraHead Men's Soccer Coach Head coach Marc Zagara enters his 17th year at the helm of the men’s soccer program at Georgia Perimeter College. Coach Zagara guided the Jaguars to their first men’s soccer national championship in 2005. His teams were national runners-up last season and in 2004 and finished in fifth place in 2006. Starting from scratch in 1992, Zagara has built a Southeastern soccer powerhouse that is regularly ranked in the top 15 nationally. In his soccer coaching career, Zagara has compiled a 335-144-16 record, while at GPC he has a stellar 260-69-10 record. His Jaguars have won ten Georgia Junior College Athletic Association Region 17 championships in 12 years. Georgia Perimeter has made the elite eight in the national tournament in seven of the past 12 years. Zagara’s teams have produced 27 All Americans, and 12 players have gone on to play professional soccer in Europe, South America, Central America, Australia and the United States. A native of Pittsford, N.Y., where he excelled in
athletics, Zagara earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Clemson University.
He began his teaching and coaching career at the Community College of the
Fingerlakes in Canadaigua, N.Y.
In his seven years as head coach at Fingerlakes, Zagara established
school records for most victories in women's soccer, men's soccer and
baseball.
Coach Moore is in his 15th season as an Assistant coach with the Georgia Perimeter College men’s soccer program. He brings a wealth of experience from youth and amateur soccer teams and has been instrumental in developing GPC’s soccer program into a national contender, winning the 2005 national championship title. In over 30 years as a soccer coach, Moore has compiled over 300 wins as a youth and adult coach. He has served as a clinician for various soccer camps in the southeast. He holds a National USSF Coaching License. Moore is also a Georgia State Soccer Coaching Course Instructor, an ODP evaluator and a former state amateur ODP coach. He has been an active member of the NSCAA since 1991. Coach Moore served on the executive and full board of the Georgia State Soccer Association for over 15 years. Moore was also President of the Georgia State Soccer Coaches Association for eight years. In 1991 Coach Moore was asked by the German Counsel Generals Office to organize and host 2 local games between the German Mens Bundastag Soccer Team and the Atlanta Adult Mens All-Star Team. Coach Moore had the honor of coaching the host team and was victorious over the visiting Germans 5-4 and 3-2. In 2002, Moore received the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Georgia Soccer for over 25 years of outstanding service to soccer in Georgia. Moore holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education and Biology from Livingston University. He also served in the U.S. Army for two years.
Jerome Samuels is from Kingston, Jamaica, and began his international career before the age of 16 on the Jamaican Youth National Team. He has played professionally for Harbour View F. C. in
