Theatre Arts Guild announces auditions for the classic American play OUR TOWN by Thornton Wilder. Directed by Kirk S. Campbell. WHEN: Monday, January 25 with appointments beginning at 7 p.m. WHERE: CF 0200, Fine Arts Building (use North entrance). Callbacks (if called) will be Tuesday, January 26. Please bring your calendar so that you can note rehearsal conflicts on the audition form. CASTING: 10 - 12 men, able to play ages 13 - 65 and 7 - 9 women, able to play ages 13 - 65. All ethnicities are encouraged to audition. WHAT TO PREPARE: 1-2 minute serious monologue from a classic American play (late 1800s to 1950s). (If you do not have a monologue still come!) ALSO, prepare a 30 second minute movement piece (not dance) where you pantomime handling several ordinary objects(catching and throwing a ball, carrying milk bottles, opening and closing a door, walking with a cane, pushing a bicycle, etc.) ADVICE: Read the play in advance! You can find it at most libraries. You may be asked to do cold readings from the script. A headshot and resume are helpful, but not required. ABOUT THE PLAY: This Thornton Wilder classic explores the passage of time and the transience of nature. Join the residents of Grovers Corners, a typical small town at the turn of the 20th century, as they show us what is truly important in life; companionship, community, and all the little things. PERFORMANCES will be held April 8 - 17, 2016 in the newly renovated Cole Auditorium, Perimeter College, Clarkston Campus. REHEARSALS will begin in February. We rehearse Mon - Thurs evenings and on Sunday. No rehearsals during Spring Break .REQUEST APPOINTMENT: Email jenifer.jenkins@gpc.edu or call 678-891-3562
