The Pell Grant is a grant from the Federal government and does not have to be repaid. The amount of the grant is based on the amount of funds actually available for the program. The maximum award is distributed over two semesters. NOTE: This may change for the year. All undergraduate students are eligible to apply for the Federal Pell Grant.
The Pell Grant Program regulations limit the amount of terms that a student may receive the Pell Grant in his or her academic history. The regulations states that a student may receive up to 12 semesters or its equivalent of 600% of Pell Grant during his/her entire award history.
To view your Pell Grant Lifetime Eligibility Used (LEU), you can log on using your Federal Student Aid PIN to National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS®) to view your LEU. The LEU will be found on the Financial Aid Review page.
