The Georgia Perimeter College Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Talent Expansion Program (STEP), is a grant funded by the National Science Foundation. STEP seeks to increase the number of students (U.S. citizens or permanent residents) receiving associate or baccalaureate degrees in established or emerging fields within science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Specific aims of STEP and highlighted activities include achieving college readiness through the summer bridge program and COMPASS prep; deepening STEM understanding through supplemental instruction, college visits, and STEM learning communities; and, building the STEM resume in which students participate in research/internship opportunities, career workshop seminars, and industry visits.
