Students are required to attend 90% of the class sessions of each ENSL course. A student who is absent (excused or unexcused) for more than 10% of the class sessions before midterm and who is failing the class (making a D or F) will be withdrawn from that class by the instructor. If a student is withdrawn by the instructor before the midpoint, the grade will be a "W." If a student withdraws from a course after the midpoint of the semester, the student's final course grade is "WF."
Students may not withdraw or be withdrawn from an ENSL course before midterm and remain in any college-level course. Students who accumulate more than 30 hours of college-level credit before completing all ENSL requirements will be required to take only ENSL courses until all esl requirements are met.
Students are expected to be in class every class session, and attendance will be taken every class period, including those that fall on religious holidays. Students are expected to attend the first class session after they have registered for a course; instructors will count attendance from that date. Check the current GPC Calendar for the withdrawal schedule.
Students are expected to be on time for all classes. Students who miss more than ten minutes may be counted absent. Tardies may also be counted as an absence. If you are less than ten minutes late, it is YOUR responsibility to remind the instructor that you came in late and to see that you are not counted absent.
