Why Study Foreign Language: We live in a world without borders. So whatever career you choose, your success will depend on your ability to communicate in culturally diverse environments. The ability to speak a foreign language is an asset in business, medical fields and service occupations. Combine a foreign language degree with a degree in another field? Now you’re speaking the language of success!
“The support from the Center for International Education and encouragement from professors allowed me to study in China on generous scholarships and grants. This support has helped me move closer to my goal of becoming a diplomat in the U.S. State Department.”
Brian Reynolds, GPC Alumnus, 2007
Set Your Own Pace: Are you self-motivated? If you are, ask about Georgia Perimeter’s Self-Instructional Language Program (SILP). SILP students independently study texts, audiotapes/CDs and other media in preparation for regular tutorial practice sessions with a native speaker of the language.
See the World: There’s a world of opportunities available to you through GPC and the University System of Georgia Study Abroad programs. Japan, Morocco, Russia, Greece, England, Germany, Chile – you decide. The world is waiting!
