Library paraprofessionals are part of an exciting field entitled Library & Information Science Technology.

Why Study Library and Information Science: The library paraprofessional may work in any area of the library, especially in the technical services area, which includes acquisitions, cataloging and other responsibilities. Much of the work involved in the process of information management in libraries is performed by these workers who have not received a graduate library degree.  They have various titles including library clerk, library assistant or library technician. Students enrolled in the Georgia Perimeter College LIST program receive hands-on training.
