SECTION 1000 - INFORMATION AND PUBLICATIONS 

1001.07                       PUBLICITY - PLACEMENT OF ADVERTISING

POLICY

Georgia Perimeter College utilizes advertising to promote its programs and services, to assist in the recruitment of both students and employees, and to solicit bids for purchases, repairs, and construction projects. It is the policy of the College to place advertising in selected newspapers, magazines, journals, and directories and on radio and television stations which in the opinion of the College reach its key target audiences in an effective manner.

PROCEDURE

The following procedures are to be observed for placing advertising in the name of Georgia Perimeter College on radio or television or in any newspaper, magazine, journal, or periodical.

  1. A written request for placement of the advertising should be submitted to the Director of Public Relations, specifying the name of the publication and/or the broadcasting station(s) where the advertising will occur, the dates the advertising will run, and the size or length of the advertisement.
  2. Copy, artwork, or ideas for artwork, and photographs to be used in the proposed advertising should be submitted to the Director of Public Relations for approval prior to the advertising being placed with the media.
  3. All advertising must include the name of the College, the identification "A two-year unit of the University System of Georgia," and words the "Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer."
  4. All advertising in the name of Georgia Perimeter College will be placed by the Office of Public Relations or by its designated representatives.
  5. A completed College Requisition Form should be submitted to the Office of Logistical Services for processing.
  6. A tearsheet of printed advertisements and an affidavit verifying broadcast advertising must be received by the Office of Public Relations before payment will be authorized.
  7. All contracts relating to advertising, its placement or production, will be negotiated and handled by the Office of Public Relations in cooperation with the Office of Logistical Services.
