POLICY

Released time from instruction may be awarded to faculty members in order that the institution may meet its ordinary or unusual goals or needs.

Released time should be held to a minimum in order to protect a reasonable and educationally effective teaching load for all faculty.

Released time for faculty will be determined by the Vice President for Academic Affairs in consultation with the President. Department Chairs may propose released time for faculty to the Vice President for Academic Affairs through the Campus Deans for Academic Services and in consultation with the Campus Provost.

Department Chairs should be consulted about and informed in a timely manner of released time awarded to faculty in their departments.
