329 INFECTION CONTROL IN CPR COURSES
POLICY
It is the policy of Georgia Perimeter
College to follow all CDC guidelines, OSHA, and state regulations related to
infection control and treatment of biohazardous waste to help insure the health
and safety of our employees, faculty, and students.
PROCEDURE
The procedure for ensuring that
adequate infection control measures are taken in CPR Courses is as follows:
A. CPR mannequins that have
individual Mouth/Nose pieces and air bags must be used. Mouth/Nose pieces must be cleaned and
sterilized after each use and reused.
Air bags are disposable and must be discarded in appropriate receptacles
for waste.
B. Mannequins must be
disinfected with Clorox-type solutions appropriate to cleaning of the mask
material.
