EDUCATION COURSE/PROGRAM PROPOSAL
POLICY
All Continuing
Education course proposals are received and approved by the Assistant Vice
President for Continuing and Corporate Education and the Vice President for
Academic Affairs.
PROCEDURE
The following
procedure is used to propose a course or program of non-credit instruction:
A. A
course proposal form is available from the Continuing Education Division. Once the form is completed, the proposal is submitted
to Continuing Education for review; all courses and programs are reviewed with
the instructor and appropriate program coordinator. Final review and approval is done first through the Assistant
Vice President for Continuing and Corporate Education and then by the Vice
President for Academic Affairs.
B. The
course proposal form includes the following information:
1. Proposed course title
2. Number of contact hours
3. Course description
4. Course content
5. Expected learning outcomes
6. Proposed course materials
7. Course completion requirements
8. Course assessment procedures
C. Faculty
compensation for teaching non-credit courses is outlined in Policy 800.03,
Continuing Education Assignment/Faculty.
