SECTION 500 - PUBLIC SERVICE
503.0105 CONTINUING EDUCATION (NON-CREDIT INSTRUCTION)
The Division of Continuing Education operates based on a philosophy of providing educational services for the community by promoting the concept of lifelong learning and providing educational leadership, programs, and facilities. The Division of Continuing Education may generate a profit; however, its central purpose is that of providing educational service to students, businesses, professional groups, and the community-at-large.
The evaluation of the cost-effectiveness of the programs and courses in the Division of Continuing Education is based on specific programming expenses (marketing, instructional, supplies, etc.), excluding administrative overhead. Administrative costs in the Division of Continuing Education are budgeted items similar to all other College administrative costs.
All non-credit activities (Enrichment, Center for Career Direction, Conference Services, Business Management and computer training) are separate budgeted programs, each having an expenditure and revenue account.
All non-credit educational activities at the College must be operated under the auspices of the Division of Continuing Education. All offices/divisions/departments of the College must properly report such activities on the appropriate "Division of Continuing Education Registration Form" through the Office of the Division of Continuing Education to enable the Office to keep up-dated records on CEU's generated by the institution.
