914.05 GUIDELINES
FOR USE OF GEORGIA PERIMETER COLLEGE FACILITIES
PROCEDURE
The following procedure is to be observed in leasing,
renting, or the non-charge use of Georgia Perimeter College facilities by
outside organizations on a space available basis. The guidelines established by the College Facilities Usage
Committee are consistent with the policies of the University System of Georgia.
Georgia Perimeter College will use the License Agreement
form furnished and approved by the Office of the Attorney General of the State
of Georgia and shall be executed for each activity held on College premises and
signed by the appropriate College Official and the outside organization's
representative. Georgia Perimeter
College facilities shall not be leased/rented for commercial purposes
and shall be allowed for use by the following organizations:
1. Groups
and organizations employed or directed by DeKalb County or its Public School
System.
2. Bonafide
non-profit organizations with a purpose that is consistent with the mission of
this institution.
3. Other
institutions within the University System of Georgia.
Charges may be
exempted, shared, or adjusted for any activity which promotes the College
mission. All organizations using Georgia Perimeter College facilities must
furnish appropriate proof of insurance as requested by Georgia Perimeter
College and the Board of Regents.
RESPONSIBILITY
The use of Georgia
Perimeter College facilities by outside groups and organizations will be the
direct responsibility of Plant Operations.
The Plant Manager on each campus will be directly responsible for
scheduling and will handle all inquiries concerning the use of College
facilities.
INSURANCE COVERAGE
Upon request, all
outside groups and organizations will be required to provide written proof of
insurance as a prerequisite for using Georgia Perimeter College
facilities. The monetary amounts for
public liability and property damage as well as other types of coverage will be
established by Georgia Perimeter College and the University System of Georgia.
CHARGES
A. Classrooms
Regular size
classrooms (as determined by Plant Operations) - $30.00 for the first three
hours or less; $l0.00 per hour thereafter.
$60.00 for the first three hours or less for non-business hours and
$20.00 per hour thereafter for non-business hours.
A fee for larger
classrooms (as determined by Plant Operations) shall be charged proportionately
at $l.00 per chair. $2.00 per chair
will be charged during non-business hours.
B. Student Center/Gymnasium
$l50.00
for the first three hours or less; $50 per hour thereafter.
C. Swimming Pool
With the exception
of prior commitments made during the transfer process with the DeKalb School
System, the swimming pools will not be available for lease by outside groups.
D. Auditorium - North Campus
$250.00
for the first three hours or less; $85.00 per hour thereafter.
E. Small Auditorium - North Campus -
Building A
$l50.00
for the first three hours or less; $50.00 per hour thereafter.
F. Fine Arts Auditorium - Central
Campus
A minimum of $300.00 for the first performance of up to four hours, $l50.00 for each successive performance of up to four ours on the same date or an adjacent date, and $50.00 per hour or fraction thereof after the first four hours. These charges do not include technician or custodial services.
G. Nursing Auditorium - Central Campus
$l50.00
for the first three hours or less; $50.00 per hour thereafter.
H. Patriot Room and Conference Rooms -
Central Campus
$30.00 for the
first three hours or less; $l0.00 per hour thereafter. $60.00 for the first three hours or less
during non-business hours; $20.00 per hour thereafter.
I. Baseball Field/Soccer Field/Tennis
Courts
Not available for lease.
J. Audio-visual and Media Equipment
A charge for audio
visual and media equipment used during activities in leased or rented
facilities shall be made according to rates established by appropriate campus
personnel.
K. Security/Custodial/Maintenance
Security
shall be mandatory for any activity when such an activity is held at a time
different from normal business hours of the College. The outside organizations using College facilities will not be
allowed to use any security personnel other than those employed by Georgia
Perimeter College. Custodial and
maintenance services will be required as necessary to the activity.
Charges
for security, maintenance, and custodial services have been established and set
forth as follows:
1. Custodian
and Maintenance Technicians
a. One and one-half times the normal
hourly rates.
2. Security
a.
$36.00 for the first three hours or less; $l2.00 per hour thereafter.
