All employees of Georgia Perimeter College are covered by the provisions of the Georgia Workers’ Compensation Act. This act provides payment for medical and hospital expenses, as well as disability compensation, in the event an employee is injured while performing job duties.
Employees are responsible for immediately reporting any injury or job-related illness, no matter how slight, to the supervisor. If an employee sustains a work-related injury or illness, the Workers’ Compensation Program will pay for the medical care, prescription medications and necessary medical equipment and supplies and may compensate time lost from work as a result of the injury or illness. Proper reporting may determine the ability to be paid for these services. The supervisor is responsible for immediately reporting the injury or illness so that a First Report of Injury form may be completed. Injuries may be reported by calling Amerisys at 1-877-656-7475.
