2009 MLK Humanitarian Award Header

Dr. Mae Jemison, the first African-American woman in space, will be the keynote speaker at Georgia Perimeter College’s 13th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration, set for Thursday, January 15, 2008. The theme of this year’s program is “Historic Firsts,” in honor of our nation’s presidential election, GPC’s highest enrollment on record, and the outstanding activities which continue to bring our college first-time recognition in the area of academic excellence and student success.

Each year, as part of the celebration of Dr. King’s life-changing legacy, the college recognizes a corporation, individual and student, who have contributed to our community is a way consistent with the teaching of Dr. King.
