From President Tricoli
As president of Georgia Perimeter College, I am honored to be a part of Georgia Perimeter College's 14th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration.
Like millions of others, I have the utmost respect for Dr. King - for his leadership, his courage, his vision. Dr. King dedicated himself to many worthy pursuits, but clearly two close to his heart were education and community.
Dr. King understood the life-changing power of education. He was an educated man and he valued the lessons learned from the great leaders and great minds before him. He was just as passionate about community, as he envisioned a "beloved community" in which all people could live peacefully together in love, trust and decency.
These were passions of Dr. King's, and they are passions of Georgia Perimeter College. It is our dream to provide our students the highest quality education, so that they can achieve their own greatness, in their careers and in their lives. It is our dream, too, that we be a college intimately engaged in our community, bringing leadership, ideas, and a spirit of cooperation to move ever closer to that beloved community.
We look forward to your joining us for this year's celebration, as we are reminded once again of Dr. King's dreams - and how we, through education and a spirit of oneness, can honor him by continuing to follow his vision.
