Smart Board:

The SMART Board is an interactive whiteboard. With it, you can save your notes to a computer and control your applications directly from the Board's large, touch-sensitive surface.

SynchronEyes:

SynchronEyes is classroom instruction and computer-control software that uses your existing network to help you monitor and control computers, deliver software demonstrations and focus student attention.

Hi-tech Podium:

Specially designed to house various equipment including:

Pentium PC: This is the instructor's PC set up with same software as the student PCs plus Smart Board and SynchonEyes.

Visual Presenter: Replaces over-head projector. Can project any solid or paper object. Eliminates the need for "flimsies".

DVD player: Replaces laser disc player.

VCR player: VHS format.

Laptop Connection: Accommodates Windows and Mac based laptop connections.

AMX Panel: This is a touch screen panel that gives instructor the control of devices lo.qµ+d inside and outside the podium.

Streaming Video and Audio:

Streaming video and audio files can be viewed on each PC. This classroom has a dedicated video file server that is on a fast-switched network and can deliver digitized audio and video files with acceptable results. The Educational Technologies Staff can help you with the digitizing process (within the limitations of the server storage space and copyright of the taped material).

Software:

The foreign language software installed on the PCs are Rosetta Stone and Triple Play.

International Satellite Broadcasting:

This classroom has its own dedicated satellite dish set up to receive SCOLA's programming in more than 30 languages,24hrs a day. In addition, the dish can be directed to other satellites to receive such stations as Deutsche Welle, Arab Television Network, various Mexican stations, and others when available. The programs can be taped off of the satellite and used in the classroom as you see fit.
