Classroom & Event Technologies

The Classroom and Event Technologies group is comprised of three areas that provide support for classroom technology, specialized technology centers, and college events requiring audio visual equipment. This group also provides system design, installation and support for college audio visual systems.
Coordination of classroom and event technology requires setup and training customers on the use of audio visual presentation. Collaborating with faculty, staff and student clubs they are responsible for the Jag TV promotional graphics.  They also assist in delivery of creative and effective communications for the more than twenty large digital signage displays found on our GPC campuses.
The following are events they are currently preparing for or have been involved:
  • Executive Women’s International Association Conference
  • Southern Academy Book Launch
  • GPC Retirees fundraiser auction
  • Convocation
  • Adjunct Faculty orientation
  • Gateway to College Fair
  • NACADA Conference
Currently, the Classroom and Event Technologies group is heavily involved in the JagSpot renovation happening on the Clarkston and Newton campuses. These specialized technology centers will provide business centers, media technology and upgraded computing capacity for our students. In Alpharetta, all teaching stations will be outfitted with the latest audio visual equipment and control systems.
The group provides direct core support to GPC students by managing computer classroom labs and the new JagSpot locations.  This support is provided by a group of highly trained and experienced individuals.  They also aid in the deployment of large-scale computer system upgrades, and provide technical expertise for renovation and construction of computer labs and classrooms.
The following projects are underway:
  • Dunwoody JagSpot
  • Decatur JagSpot
  • Upgrade of Newton Classrooms
  • Alpharetta JagSpot and Classroom
The Classroom and Event Technologies group has over eighty years of combined service in advanced audiovisual and videoconferencing technology to assist customers with their needs.  They attend training, stay abreast of cutting-edge technologies and industry best practices.
The Classroom and Event Technologies group works to:
  • Enhance student success and continuous improvement by providing student information for critical college dates, classes, activities and events.
  • Create and foster a culture of teamwork, leadership, and quality service.
