Nov. 27th, 2013 Decatur Campus Power Outage!
12:36pm - Power has been restored, and we are working to restore services that became unavailable as soon as possible.
11:00am - The Decatur campus is experiencing an area-wide power outage. This will affect email and other services. Georgia Power is working to resolve the issue. There is no estimate on when the power will be restored. We will continue to update as information is made available.
Oct. 17th, 2013 eTime Downtime from 10/18 - 10/20!
ADP will be conducting an eTime Data Center migration this weekend to move eTime to a new server. This migration is scheduled from Friday, October 18th, starting at 8:00pm until Sunday, October 20th, at 8:00am. During this time, eTime will be unavailable.
Timestamp employees will be unable to stamp in and out during the weekend migration. The system will be unavailable for managers/supervisors as well.

Sep. 3rd, 2013 Network Maintenance on 9/8!
On Sunday, September 8, 2013 OIT will perform network maintenance beginning at 6:00am with an expected end time of 12:00pm.
During this time the following services will be unavailable:
  • iCollege
  • Employee Email
  • SIS/Banner
  • College Website (
Other services may also be affected during this maintenance.
Jun. 26th, 2013 Banner/SIS will be unavailable from 6/28-7/1!
Banner/SIS will be unavailable from 12:01am Friday, June 28, through midnight Sunday (evening), June 30, for fiscal year 2013 closeout. Normal operations will resume at 12:45am, Monday, July 1.
The following systems are affected:
  • Banner
  • SIS
  • eSAMS
  • TouchNet payments
  • Password reset assistance through OIT Service Desk
  • New GPC account creation
  • Most web reports utilizing Banner data
  • GetMyLogin password reset
Faculty should check their Summer second-part-of-term rolls before Friday.
If you have received notification that your password will expire Friday, Saturday or Sunday, please change it before then or you will not be able to login Monday.
Jun. 10th, 2013 GPC to upgrade student email, calendar system to Office 365!
Students may experience intermittent outages with email during an upgrade beginning at 10pm Friday, June 21, 2013 and continuing through Sunday June 23, 2013. Please click here for further information.
Jun. 5th, 2013 Windows Media Streaming Server Downtime 6/8!
The Windows Media Streaming Server will be unavailable Saturday, June 8 beginning at 11:00pm until Sunday, June 9 at 12:00pm (noon).
During this time any videos that are on this server ( will be unavailable for viewing and faculty will be unable to add additional videos to this server. Students may notice that if they click a link to a video from within iCollege or on a GPC webpage that the video will not display during this downtime.
May 10th, 2013 Transition from ElementK to SkillSoft!
On 05/17/2013, the Office of Information Technology will begin the transition of ElementK to SkillSoft as an online training tool for Georgia Perimeter College.
For those users with current ElementK access, you are encouraged to print your professional development transcripts before 05/17/2013, when access to ElementK will be cut off for the transition process. SkillSoft will be online and available as of Tuesday, 05/28/2013.
SkillSoft is a leading provider of e-learning and performance support solutions whose online resources include courses, books, simulations, exams and videos. SkillSoft users may use these tools to prepare for many exam certifications for business skills, IT skills and desktop skills.
Along with SkillSoft, users will have access to Books 24x7, which has thousands of full-length titles available to view on a computer or mobile device as well as several hundred Desktop and IT video solutions.
Apr. 22nd, 2013 iCollege-D2L Transition May 8!
iCollege will officially transition from Blackboard Vista to the Desire2Learn (D2L) platform on Wednesday, May 8, 2013.  Beginning at 7:00am until 1:00pm on Wednesday, May 8, iCollege- Vista and iCollege- D2L will be unavailable to faculty, staff, and students. When the transition is complete, will take you to iCollege-D2L rather than iCollege- Vista.
On May 8, iCollege- Vista becomes a non-production system and should ONLY be used to retrieve old course materials. A link to login to iCollege- Vista will be available from the Getting Help pages. This link will be available until July 7, 2013. After July 7, iCollege- Vista will be inaccessible to GPC faculty and staff. Students will no longer have access to iCollege- Vista after May 8!
If you need to have a student access a course in iCollege- Vista after May 8, please contact the Service Desk ( and let OIT work with you. If you are still in need of training on using iCollege- D2L please view the online schedule of training.
Mar. 22nd, 2013 Planned Outage for Banner Student System from 4/13-4/16!
There will be a planned outage of the production Banner Student System, Saturday, April 13 – Tuesday, April 16. This affects all online SIS, eSAMS, Banner INB, Xtender / Banner Document Imaging, and Banner batch processing.
This outage commences Saturday, April 13, 12:01 a.m., and ends Tuesday, April 16, 11:59 p.m. This outage will affect all Banner DB access, including:
  • Self-Service Banner (SIS) – registration, withdrawal requests, access to TouchNet fee payment; student, faculty and advisor access
  • eSAMS and other web applications that use Banner enrollment data
  • Admissions processing
  • Financial Aid processing
  • Records requests including transcripts
  • Banner INB administrative access
  • BDM/Xtender document imaging and viewing of document images
  • Provisioning of new employee accounts from ADP into JCard and iCollege
  • Contact Center - Numara Workspace Address Book

Note: iCollege will be available.
Feb. 1st, 2013 Phishing Emails!
We are receiving a large number of phishing scam emails. Many of them indicate that your email box has reached its maximum size limit and tells you to click on a link to update your ID and password. THESE EMAILS ARE A HOAX. DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINK. NEVER PROVIDE YOUR ID AND PASSWORD IN AN EMAIL.
GPC will NEVER send you an email asking for your password. Please DO NOT EVER CLICK ON A LINK IN ANY EMAIL OF THIS TYPE. Doing so can cause malicious software to be downloaded and cause your machine to send out large numbers of these emails.
If you receive one of these emails, please delete it immediately. If you have questions or need to report a problem, please contact the OIT Service Desk at 678 891-3460.
