Description of Unit:
The Georgia Perimeter College Administrative Systems team provides frontline local support services and works together with external University System resources like, Information Technology Services (ITS) and the Shared Services Center, to support the PeopleSoft Financials and ADP systems respectively.
Georgia Perimeter College utilizes the GeorgiaFIRST model of the PeopleSoft Financials Management System which is the model for budgeting, purchasing, paying vendors, managing capital assets, and managing employee reimbursements for 33 institutions in the University System of Georgia. The GeorgiaFIRST model is centrally supported by the Information Technology Services (ITS) group of the University System of Georgia.
The University System of Georgia has contracted with ADP (Automated Data Processing) for the Enterprise Human Resources and Time & Labor System. This system provides employees access to managing their personal information, reviewing select benefits, record time entries to log time worked, leave time taken and run the payroll processes. This model is designed to consolidate business functions throughout the University System of Georgia.

The services provided by the Enterprise Information Systems Administrative team focuses on the strategic goal that states: We will create and foster a culture of teamwork, leadership, quality service and continuous improvement. Upcoming major projects:
In 2008, one of the goals (#6) of the Board of Regents strategic plan called for achieving best-in-class efficiencies for our administrative support functions in the University System of Georgia. The Hackett Benchmarking study from June 2007 showed that the University System had opportunities to improve efficiencies. The follow-up Accenture study from January 2008 also recommended adopting a shared services approach.
The first step in improving efficiency and effectiveness for the University System of Georgia was to consolidate payroll services through a shared services strategy and the implementation of ADP. The next step in improving efficiency and effectiveness for the University System of Georgia is to centralize specific functions of Human Resources, Benefits and Payroll into the shared services best practices approach. The Shared Services team will be working with Georgia Perimeter College later this fall to move us into the first phase of the centralization effort.
