Orientation is an important program where you will gain information necessary for success at Georgia Perimeter College, where two years will change your life!
Only students who have been admitted and have completed or exempted required placement tests may attend orientation. You may check your status at www.gpc.edu/mystatus to see.
The following students are required to attend orientation before registering for classes:
Transfer students who have 30 or more hours of transferrable credit may attend orientation online.
Former GPC students with no Learning Support/ESL requirements are not required to attend orientation, but are strongly encouraged to do so in order to catch up with any changes made at GPC during their absence.
Transient students, special students, and PrimeTimers are not required to attend orientation.
Effective Spring semester 2010, there is a one time fee of $15.00 which will be assessed when new freshmen and transfer students register for classes for the first time. Former students will not be assessed the fee.
There are two kinds of orientation programs at GPC -- on-campus, and on-line. Students who will be taking all of their courses on-line, as well as former students who have exited or exempted Learning Support/ESL requirements may take part in orientation on-line. All students who will be taking courses at one of the GPC campuses must attend orientation on-campus.
On-campus orientation takes about three hours to complete. Sessions are scheduled at all campuses on different dates. there are multiple sessions that run on any given day. Subject to availability, students may pick the date and time that best fits their schedule. Click here to go to the student sign-up system to view the schedule of available sessions at the different campuses and to reserve your seat.
On-line orientation for students taking all classes online is available here: orientation online
The orientation program is the same at all GPC campus locations. You may attend any orientation session at any campus location which is most convenient for you.
Sign up for orientation is available on our student sign-up system. You will need your GPC ID number and your GPC e-mail address. If you don't have this information, you can obtain it at the Get My Login page
