Rob Jenkins grew up outside of Chattanooga, Tennessee and graduated from Ringgold (Georgia) High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in English at West Georgia College and a master's degree in writing at the University of Tennessee. Rob has been a professor and administrator at a number of two-year colleges, arriving at Georgia Perimeter College in 2000 as department chair of the Humanities and Fine Arts Departments. Before taking the reins as Director of the Writers Institute in 2004, he also served as interim Dean of Academic Service. Rob is a weekly Lifestyle columnist for Gwinnett Daily Post, Georgia's third-largest newspaper, and also writes a regular feature on two-year college teaching careers for The Chronicle of Higher Education. His essays and poems have appeared in Southern Poetry Review, The Dekalb Literary Arts Journal, Clearing House, The Knoxville News-Sentinel, The Paducah Sun, The Panama City News-Herald, the Monroe Journal, and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Rob Jenkins lives in Gwinnett County with his wife and four children.
