Academic Advising Mission Statement
At Georgia Perimeter College, Academic Advising is a shared responsibility among the student, advisor and college community to promote individual growth by developing a dynamic plan to reach the student’s educational, career and life goals.
Advisement Services are available to all students at their respective campuses. The services assist students in meeting their educational and career goals. Consistent use of advisement services ensures that students develop appropriate academic plans and select courses that meet their program requirements. Check the pages following this page for listings of advisors by campuses.

Learning Support Students who have exempted or exited English and reading and are only enrolled in Learning Support math may be advised by advisors in their programs of study. For students who are totally Distance Learning/Online only, you may contact GPC Online to complete Learning Support Advising. Other Learning Support students are advised by the Office of Advising and Counseling Services.
English as a Second Language students enrolled in ENSL (English as a Second Language) courses must be advised by an ENSL advisor.
The Center for Disability Services provides advisement services for students requiring special support services.
The office of International Student Admissions and Advising provides the following services for international students and applicants at Georgia Perimeter College:
Students receiving VA (Veterans Affairs) educational benefits must report to the Veterans Affairs Office on the Clarkston Campus after registration each semester. All schedule changes must be pre-approved by Veteran Affairs. Final course selections must be approved prior to the certification of benefits. Questions may be addressed to (678) 891-3418.
STUDENTS WHO SELF-ADVISE ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR SELECTING CLASSES THAT MEET THE PREREQUISITE AND CO-REQUISITE COURSE REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR PROGRAMS OF STUDY.
New student orientation sessions are valuable to all new Georgia Perimeter College students, offering an excellent introduction to and preparation for college life. Transfer students are also encouraged to use the orientation sessions as a means of acquainting themselves with Georgia Perimeter College. Students should register for New Student Orientation following notification of official acceptance and the completion of any necessary testing. To reserve a space at orientation at the campus of your choice, please visit New Student Orientation You must have a valid email address to reserve your spot in orientation.
