    Area   Credit hours
    A - E Students are required to complete either Core I (non-math/science based) or Core II (math/science based) for the Program of Study of the concentration (subject to be taught) in which they intend to pursue certification. Use the Program of Study advising sheet for your chosen area of certification (subject to be taught) for Areas A - E.
    F Courses appropriate to the Program of Study 18 hours
    Students are required to complete Area F requirements for the Program of Study 
    of the concentration (subject to be taught) in which they intend to pursue certification. Use the Program of Study advising sheet for your chosen area of certification (subject to be taught) for Area F.
    Note that the three (3) additional courses listed below this chart are required of all Teacher Education majors.

    EDUC 2110 Investigating Critical and Contemporary Issues in Education 3 hours
    EDUC 2120 Exploring Socio-Cultural Perspectives on Diversity 3 hours
    EDUC 2130 Exploring Teaching and Learning 3 hours

    Special Admission Requirements for Teacher Education Programs
    To be admitted into an undergraduate educator preparation program within the University System of Georgia:
    (a) Students must earn a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on all attempted hours in the System core curriculum in areas A-F.
    (b) Students must have passed the Regents Test.
    (c) Students must have passed GACE I.
    (d) Receiving institutions may establish higher admission requirements.
