Entering his seventh season as head coach at Georgia Perimeter College, Ed Schutte, the 2006 GJCAA Region XVII Coach of the Year, led the Lady Jaguars to 40 wins in 2007, setting the school record for wins. He also guided the 10th ranked Lady Jaguars to their second regional championship in three years and a fifth place
finish at nationals. Schutte boasts an overall
record of 187-103, with regional tournament
berths all six years.

Never satisfied with the status of his program, Schutte continues to recruit only the best student athletes and improve his facility, with the goal of winning a national championship.

Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, Schutte was active in many sports in both high school and college. An outstanding athlete, Schutte lettered in baseball and basketball and was on state championship teams in football and basketball.

After graduation, Schutte attended Columbian College in Washington DC, where he started on the men's basketball team. From there, Schutte took his talents to Randolph Macon College in Ashland, Virginia, where he played basketball and baseball. Schutte completed his collegiate career at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. He also earned a degree from VCU.

Later Schutte played competitive fast pitch softball in a Virginia men's league in Virginia. He also coached numerous teams to the American Softball Association (ASA) and National Softball Association (NSA) softball national championships.

Schutte is married to the former Connie Wood of Virginia. The couple resides in Duluth with their two daughters, Michelle and Chris.
