Library Instruction Policies
Here are some general policies to follow when requesting a Library Instruction Class.
Email Sherry Durren (678)-891-3636 or Lois Shelton (678)-891-3635 to schedule a session, or use our online Library Instruction Request Form.
- Contact us at least one week in advance to schedule a class.
- Faculty or a designated faculty or staff member must attend all library classes.
- When you schedule your class, let us know if you have students with special needs.
- Tell your students to be on time. The constant interruption of late arrivals disrupts the students and wastes valuable class time.
- These are the pieces of information we need to provide an effective library class for your students:
- Your phone number and email address.
- Number of students in your class.
- Length of class and how much time we have. We need at least 50 minutes.
- The specific assignment, length of paper or speech, number of sources required, types of sources (books, internet sites, database articles), and due date.
- Subject or topic of the assignment such as current events, literary research, or controversial issues.
- If you don't receive confirmation of your class, contact Sherry Durren or Lois Shelton as soon as possible.
