Books
Reference books are on the second floor of the Library. Circulating books
(the ones you can check out) are on the third and fourth floors.
GIL
GIL, http://gil.gpc.edu, is the online library
catalog. You can access GIL from any computer with Internet
access, including the library PC's in the reference area on the second
floor and near the book stacks on the third and fourth floors. If you want to

GALILEO
GALILEO, the collection of online databases, is accessible from any
on-campus computer with Internet access, including the library PC's in the reference
area on the second floor, at
http://galileo.usg.edu. To access GALILEO
databases from off-campus, you must have the GALILEO password.
Get the GALILEO Password provides
information on getting the GALILEO password, or you can request
the password in person at the Circulation Desk.
Periodicals
Current copies of magazines and journals are displayed alphabetically by title on the
Current Periodical Shelves on the third floor. Current newspapers
are located behind the Current Periodical Shelves. To find out more,

Microfilm
The microfilm area is located on the third floor. Reels are
arranged alphabetically by title and stored in cabinets. Microfilm readers and
a reader/copier also are available on the third floor.
Copies are $.25 per page. To find out more, visit the

Popular Books
Popular books are the newest books that the library owns. You'll
find them shelved on the second floor of the Library next to the
Nonprint Department. Popular books can be checked out for fourteen days.
Course Reserves
Course Reserves are kept at the Circulation Desk. You must have
the reserve number of the item you need when you request the item at the
Circulation Desk. Find out how to find
and retrieve course reserves.
Nonprint Items: Videos, DVDs, CDs, and Albums
Nonprint items are in the Nonprint Department on the second floor of
the library. Check out and return nonprint items to the Nonprint Department.
