Title Searching with GIL
GIL is the online library catalog for books and for nonprint items such as CDs and DVDs. Searching by title can help you find books and/or nonprint items that another person recommends or that you see in a Works Cited or database
- Click on the GIL@gpc.edu link in the left
column of the JCLRC home page.
- Choose Exact Search.
- Type in your title without the first "the," "a," or "an."
- Click GO to begin your search.
- GIL presents you with a list of possible similar titles.
Choose the title that most closely matches the
one you want and click on the blue title.
Note the locations for different titles. Items that have Click Title or Clarkston as their location are likely to be in the library.
- To find a book, use the call number shown on
the entry screen. The library has shelf map handouts and
also a call number tutorial available at
http://www.gpc.edu/~clalib/help/tutorials/callno/callno1.htm.
