Step by Step with Learning Express Library
Learning Express Library features practice material for a wide variety of standardized tests and close to a thousand career-related e-books. This handout explains how to find and take Learning Express Library's practice tests and how to find and open its myriad e-books.
Finding and Taking Practice Tests in Learning Express Library
- Learning Express Library is part of GALILEO. You can
find GALILEO through the library's pages or by typing in
http://www.galileo.usg.edu
into your browser's locator bar or finding the link on the library's web pages.
- Choose Databases A-Z. Click on L, and then scroll
down to and select Learning Express Library.
To find a test that interests you, type a few words into the search box in the upper left corner of the window.
Alternatively, you can browse Learning Express Library's Centers which is what it calls categories. Centers feature subcategories that display as dark blue bars.
- Click the subcategory that interests you and look for a test to practice.
When you find a test you want, click the words next to the green plus sign.
Note: you usually have to sign in or register to take Learning Express Library's tests. Fortunately, registration is free. Also, if you access Learning Express Library from home, you need to sign in with your GPC userid and password.
- If you can not complete your test, click Finish
Later, one of three buttons near the top of the window.
- To return to an unfinished test later, log in
to Learning Express, and click My Center which lists
your completed tests as well as those in progress.
- To end a session in Learning Express
Library, lLogout byclicking the gold colored Logout link
on the right side of the black and blue band at
the top of the page.
- Then close your browser or tab or switch to another web site.
Finding and Reading E-books in Learning Express Library
- Find Learning Express Library via Databases A-Z within GALILEO
http://www.galileo.usg.edu.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the Learning Express main page.
- Click on Browse our Complete Library of E-books which is the
last link in the lower right corner.
- Learning Express Library gives you hundreds of e-books sorted by category.
- You can also search for a specific book or subject by typing a
few words in to the big search box near the top of the window.
- Click on the title that interests you.
- Most e-books are PDF files, and you can print and save as many pages as you like.
