How can you protect yourself from biased material on the web?

The answer is that you CAN'T.

Bias is information colored by opinion or created by those with a stake in an issue.

All written material contains some bias. Many reputable print magazines and journals have a noticeable slant. The world of the web mirrors the world of print.

What you can do is acknowledge that bias is there, take note of it, and even if you agree with the author's opinion, at least try to find and look at work that reflects the opposite point of view.

Now let's visit some biased web sites.
