Meadow Garden

Georgia
Perimeter
College Botanical Garden

Below are a few pictures of the Meadow Garden. The Meadow Garden is unique in that there are no beds. Since the intent is to create the look of a Meadow no beds were created although there is a semicircular path to allow visitors to enjoy the garden. This area is planted with native grasses and perennials. There are both plants which were planted in the garden, but in many cases they are volunteers which have been left for all to enjoy. Since the garden is not highly structured this allows us to let nature determine the fauna. This garden is the inspiration of Kathryn Gable to whom the garden owes much. The area was once a dumping ground for the college and was reclaimed under Kathryn's guidance to the beautiful meadow we have today. This garden is evolving and will undoubtedly change over time as nature and man try to shape it.
