Library Instruction Room Use Guidelines

The Library Instruction Room (SA-3110) is available for use by the college community under the following guidelines.  The Decatur Campus Library reserves the right to change any policies and procedures related to the room or discontinue use of the room by non-library groups at any time.

  1. The LI room is available for non-library uses such as training sessions on a first come, first served basis. Library use takes precedent over any other use of the room.
  2. The LI room must be booked at least one week in advance through the Instruction Room Request Form.
  3. All requested sessions must require the use of the technology in the room. The LI room may not be booked as a conference room for meetings not requiring technology. You will be asked about the purpose of the session and the use of technology when you contact the library for booking.
  4. Any cancellations must be made by phone or email as soon as possible so other groups may use the room. Failure to cancel sessions may jeopardize future use of the room.
  5. Please be respectful of library users and staff by keeping voices at an appropriate level before, during and after any sessions in the room. Failure to maintain an appropriate volume level may jeopardize future use of the room.
  6. No food or drinks are allowed in the room. Presence of food or drink during a session may jeopardize future use of the room.
  7. The room will hold around 25 people comfortably. Please keep your projected audience size in mind when requesting the room.

Any long-term usage of the room, such as regularly scheduled courses, must be approved in advance and in writing by the Director of Library Services.
