 All About Tuition and Fees

Tuition and fees charged by Georgia Perimeter College are approved by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. The precise amount of a student’s tuition and fees for a semester depends upon a number of things, the most important of which are:

• The number of courses taken
• The nature of the courses
• The location at which the courses are taught
• The number of credit hours assigned to the courses
• The residence status of the student
• The year in which the student first enrolled

Actual costs are determined when a student registers for classes each semester.  Actual charges can be viewed online at Student Information System

It is the responsibility of the student to be informed of and to observe all regulations and procedures regarding the payment of fees and the entitlement of refunds.  Registration is not complete until all fees have been paid in full.

In April 2009, the Board of Regents revised its policy about the “Fixed for Three” program (for four-year schools, it is “Fixed for Four”) for tuition rates for incoming freshmen.  The “Fixed for Three” program (also known as the Guaranteed Tuition Plan) is intended to give students and parents more certainty in planning for college tuition costs.  Under this program, tuition rates are locked in or guaranteed to remain fixed for three years.

Beginning with the fall 2009 academic term, incoming freshmen are no longer guaranteed their tuition rates.  They will pay the same rate as returning students (defined as those students that were previously enrolled prior to fall 2006). Read the full article about tuition rates and the suspension of the Guaranteed Tuition Plan.

For purposes of the guaranteed tuition plan, students are classified according to the following entry points into the Board of Regents system:

Returning or continuing students
New students 2006-2007
New students 2007-2008
New students 2008-2009
New students 2009-2010
