Greetings:

As educators in the Sign Language Interpreting Program at Georgia Perimeter College, one of the south’s oldest and most respected interpreter training programs, we believe promoting interpreter education and enlightenment is a top concern for the Deaf and interpreting communities.  I am writing with a wonderful opportunity for concerned and interested organizations and individuals to connect with sign language interpreters across the Southeast as well as promote knowledge that will pay off for everyone’s futures.

During the weekend of January 27-28, 2006, we will host the Interpreters Unite: Symposium for Sign Language Interpreters.  This exciting symposium will feature distinguished presenters, leadership training, updates on national and state certifications, and so much more.  Some confirmed presenters include the current President of RID, the current President of NAOBI, and the RID Region II representative.  Interpreters who attend will have occasion not only to gain CEU’s but also to receive both professional and personal edification.

We are currently accepting sponsors for this exciting event, and sponsors are able to contribute in any one of four categories:

Platinum:        $1,000 – Above                       Gold:               $500.00 – 1000.00

Silver:             $100.00 – $500.00                  Bronze:           $50.00 – 100.00

At Georgia Perimeter College we have years experience hosting workshops with internationally renowned presenters such as Peter Cook, Gary Sanderson and Keith Cagle.  The weekend of January 27-28, 2006 will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the most exciting and rewarding events for sign language interpreters around the southern and Mid-Atlantic states.

If you would like to be recognized as a vital contributor to this event, please respond by December 15, 2005 with your pledge.  If you need further information, please do not hesitate to contact me via email at jplant@gpc.edu.  I look forward to your support!

Sincerely,

Jean S. Plant
