Q: When I log on to GALILEO at home, it doesn't work; nothing happens.
A: The GALILEO screen DOES NOT CHANGE when you login. However, on the
bottom right corner of the screen, you should see "Welcome: Georgia Gwinnett
College User" if you have logged in using the GGC password, or
"Welcome: your home home institution's name User" if you have
logged in using your home institution's password. Your home institution
is the school in which you are enrolled: GPC, UGA, SPSU, or MCG. This
tells you that you have logged in. For more information, see our GALILEO

Q: What is my home institution?
A: Your home institution is the school in which you are enrolled and

Q: Can I place a hold on a book that is currently checked out?
A: Yes. You can do this by looking up the book in GIL and then using
the request feature.
Q: Can I renew my book online?
A: Yes. You can do this by logging into your library account and then
selecting the books for renewal. See our GIL

Q: My teacher has put something on reserve. Where can I pick it up?
A: First, consult the Course
Reserves section of the GGC GIL homepage, and get the call number
of the material on reserve you wish to locate. Bring the call number
to the Circulation Desk on the first floor of the library, and the library
staff there will be happy to find the reserved material for you.
Q: How do I get a book from another library?
A: You can either go to the library that owns the book and check it
out (using a picture I.D., preferably a Student I.D.), you can find it in the USG Universal Cataglog and order it through GIL Express,
or you can fill out the InterLibrary Book Loan Request form
to borrow it from a library outside the University System of Georgia. A GIL Express book
will be delivered to a USG pickup location that you designate. An InterLibrary Loan book will
be delivered to the GGC Library circulation desk. Delivery times and schedules for InterLibrary loans vary.
Q: How do I get an article from another library?
A: You can either go to the library that owns the article and copy it,
or you can fill out the online
article request form and the article will be delivered to GGC for
you to pick up. Delivery times and schedules vary.
Q: How can I check on material that I have requested from another library?
A: You can do this by logging into your library account through GIL.

Q: Do I have to sign up to use a computer?
A: No. They are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Q: Can I print in the library?
A: Yes. All printouts can be picked up at the circulation desk, on the
first floor of the library. The cost is 15 cents per page.
Q: Can I type papers, etc, inside the library?
A: The library computers are for research and not for writing papers.
Please use the computer lab in building A, room 1510 for typing papers
and doing other class work.
Q: Can I get an Internet connection with my laptop?
A: Yes! If you are affiliated with GPC, UGA, SPSU, or MCG, you can use
the wireless network if you have a 802.11b or 802.11g compliant wireless
card. For more information, there is a handout available on the 2nd
floor of the library, in the Reference section.
Q: How do I make a photocopy?
A: Students: The library copy machines do not accept coins. You can
either purchase a copy card or add money to your Student I.D. using
the kiosk located in the atrium of building B. Using your student ID,
you can add as little as $1 for copies; using a copy card costs
$1 for the card and at least $1 for copies. Copies are $.09 per page.
Copiers are located in the library on the first and second floors.
A: Faculty: The library copy machines do not accept coins or faculty
IDs. There is a copier located at the end of the third floor in the
B building, past the Faculty Suite (B 3100), which will accept your
faculty card.
Q: Do I have to sign up to use a library study room?
A: No, they are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Q: Where are the other study rooms?
A: There are several study rooms located along the perimeter hallway
of the second floor of the B building. They are available on a first-come,
first-served basis, unless there is a sign that says the room is reserved.
The study rooms' numbers are 2460, 2470, 2480, 2490, 2500, 2600, 2610,
2620, 2630, and 2640.
Q: Can I reserve a study room?
A: Yes, study rooms are available for reserve on a first-come, first-served
basis. Please see the Administrative Secretary in the GGC Library Administrative
Offices (B 2685) to reserve a study room, or call 678-407-5177.
Q: Where can I get change?
A: You can get change from the Student Accounts department, located in building A, room 1060.
Q: Where do I go to register for classes?
A: You can either register in person at the appropriate office (both UGA and GPC's offices are located in the information center in the A building), or you can register online at GPC and UGA's registration homepages.
Q: I need directions to room...
A: We are happy to help point you to your classroom or other rooms in the building. But the GGC website also has maps of building A (http://www.gwinnettuniversitycenter.com/interiormap.pdf) and building B (http://www.gwinnettuniversitycenter.com/GGCmapbuildinga.pdf) available online. Q: Where do I go to get a parking sticker?
A: You can get a parking decal from the Security Office, located on the first floor East Entrance lobby, between two sets of double doors. The office is on the right as you enter the building. Parking decals are available at no cost.
