Chancellor Davis's remarks at Bainbridge College

All,

This afternoon Chancellor Davis spoke to our campus, and  we asked him about the proposed changes to our 2-year programs. He said, “There is ZERO sentiment” at the Board of Regents for putting the 2-year colleges under the TCSG. He pointed out that we are the ones with leadership for doing both transfer and tech programs, that we are the ones with experience in managing large numbers of students, that we have the libraries, and that we have the qualified faculty. He said the USG is expecting 400,000 students by 2020, and he wants the majority of that enrollment in our access institutions. He said that he foresees no change regarding the home of the 2-year schools in his lifetime (and he plans to live a long time).
